About the Company: A laser equipment research institute seeking expertise in the technical and application areas described in this position. The role offers a focused setting for translating specialist knowledge into research, engineering or organizational outcomes.
Target Candidates: Master’s or PhD in Control, Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science or AI.
Responsibilities
• Develop precision motion control, trajectory planning, servo control, multiaxis coordination, interpolation look-ahead, vision and error compensation for laser equipment.
• Model and validate controls through system identification, filtering, feed-forward control and compensation.
• Integrate optical, mechanical, electronic and software systems and optimize complex tasks for production.
• Solve accuracy, stability and throughput challenges in cutting, micromachining, stealth dicing and scribing; document patents and standards.
• The position covers equipment or instrument development from specification and component selection through assembly, test and refinement. Results should be measured against the functional, precision and reliability needs of the intended application.
Requirements
• Master’s or PhD in Control, Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science or AI.
• Experience in servo control, multiaxis interpolation, trajectory planning, MPC, adaptive, robust or intelligent control.
• Industrial motion-control software, visual servoing or precision compensation, ideally in laser, semiconductor, CNC or robotics applications.
• Candidates should document design decisions, diagnose test results and coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software and production colleagues as appropriate.
