Responsibilities

•  Conduct research projects, experimental studies and technical problem-solving.

•  Support grants, publications, patents, exchange and technology transfer.

•  Contribute to platform development, project management and graduate supervision.

•  Develop a coherent research agenda, define tractable milestones and contribute to publications, intellectual property and appropriate research proposals. Share methods and results with collaborators while supporting the research platform and the development of junior researchers.

•  Translate the stated responsibilities into clear work plans, review interim results against project objectives, and communicate progress, technical risks and next steps to the relevant team. Carry lessons from testing or implementation into the following development cycle.

Requirements

•  PhD; no fixed experience threshold.

•  Usually holds an intermediate or higher technical appointment at a leading institution; outstanding postdocs or PhD graduates may apply.

•  Normally age 40 or below, with strong research potential and teamwork.

•  The appointment calls for independent scientific judgment, the ability to organize research work and a sustained record or clear potential for scholarly output. Experience mentoring students or coordinating collaborative projects is valuable where consistent with the seniority of the post.
