Target Candidates: PhD with at least five years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

•  Lead teaching, frontier research, discipline development and research projects.

•  Supervise graduate students and early-career academics and build research platforms.

•  Pursue major grants, industry collaboration and international academic exchange.

•  Develop a coherent research agenda, define tractable milestones and contribute to publications, intellectual property and appropriate research proposals. Share methods and results with collaborators while supporting the research platform and the development of junior researchers.

•  Translate the stated responsibilities into clear work plans, review interim results against project objectives, and communicate progress, technical risks and next steps to the relevant team. Carry lessons from testing or implementation into the following development cycle.

Requirements

•  PhD with at least five years of relevant experience.

•  Long-term associate professor or equivalent position at a prominent overseas university or research institute.

•  Normally age 45 or below, with flexibility for exceptional candidates; strong scholarship and team development.

•  The appointment calls for independent scientific judgment, the ability to organize research work and a sustained record or clear potential for scholarly output. Experience mentoring students or coordinating collaborative projects is valuable where consistent with the seniority of the post.
